A voice for hope
We represent Baptist community service organisations and their clients in the national policy debate.
You can find out more about what we do in our work. We are part of the Australian Baptist movement, and work closely with Baptist churches and other Baptist agencies.
Our strategy focuses on being a strong advocate, and coordination the collaboration of member organisations on national projects. We are a company limited by guarantee, governed by our Constitution and Board of Directors. Baptist Care Australia is a registered charity and public benevolent institution with income tax deductible gift recipient status.
Baptist community service agencies have been working together since 1990. The purpose of this collaboration was to share information, resources and research, to speak as a unified voice on policy issues, and to connect members to a national network of Baptist agencies. In the years that followed, an annual conference program was established to bring together key leaders from the Baptist Care family. Collaboration Groups were established to facilitate communication and collaboration in specific areas of practice.
What we do
Our work
We work to bring equality and opportunity to Australian communities, advocating nationally on issues such as homelessness, aged care and domestic violence.
Aged Care
High quality and affordable aged care services will be in increasingly high demand over the next four decades. Ongoing policy reform and new, innovative services will be needed to meet this significant challenge.
Housing and homelessness
Australia has a housing crisis. Insecure or unaffordable housing leads to homelessness, disruption to childrens’ education, and adults having less access to work opportunities.
