The Albanese government now has the opportunity to make significant progress in several critical areas:
- Supporting the transition to the new Aged Care Act,
- Addressing the housing affordability crisis affecting hundreds of thousands of Australians, and;
- Raising income support payments above the poverty line for all Australians.
Baptist Care Australia calls on the government pursue more ambitious social and economic reforms to deliver real outcomes for those who need them most, and we are ready to work collaboratively with them every step of the way.
"As our nation navigates these challenging times, it's essential we don't leave anyone behind. The true measure of our society is how we care for our most vulnerable. We look forward to working with the government to create meaningful change that builds compassionate communities and provides dignity for all Australians" says Dr Sampson.
